Michael Maszaros
Owner
A Richmond native and a graduate from the University of Virginia, Michael has been designing custom interiors since 2003. He is President of the Richmond Chapter of the International Furnishing & Design Association for 2016, and previously worked creating unique soft furnishings for clients in central Virginia from Williamsburg to Wintergreen. He took over Cabin Creek in 2012 and has expanded its services to include full-custom interior design. Enthusiastic and creative, Michael is always looking for the best solution to solve any decorating and design dilemma and especially loves tackling challenging projects. The child of two designers (furniture and fashion), his love for the arts and interiors has been with him throughout his life.

Melissa Walton
Designer Assistant
Melissa recently joined Cabin Creek as Michael's assistant. She has an eye for color after 15 years as a freelance impressionist pastel artist. She is excited to combine her love of art with her passion for interior design. Her design principles are based on an authentic approach to capturing the client's personal taste and life experience to achieve a bespoke design. Her artwork is regularly exhibited in Richmond. She is a graduate of the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech and is currently enrolled in her interior design certification at University of Richmond. She is a member of the Pastel Society of America and International Furnishing & Design Association. Outside of work she enjoys plein air painting and yoga. Melissa considers her family including her husband and four kids to be her greatest achievement.
Lynne Demestre
Designer Assistant
Lynne is an Assistant Designer here at Cabin Creek. She brings a strong background in art and design, is creative, and has an eye for detail. She works with clients to create designs to best reflect their tastes, functionality, and lifestyle. She previously attended VCU School of the Arts, and completed the University of Richmond Interior Decorating Certificate Program in April 2023. She is a member of the International Furnishings and Design Association and an HSR Certified Home Stager and Color Consultant. For Lynne, Interior Design is more than a profession, it’s a passion!
Lynne is a Richmond native. In her spare time, you will find Lynne walking with her dog, Henley, painting portraits and glass ornaments of homes and dogs, and spending as much time as possible with her family.

Certified interior designer from the New York Institute of Art and Design.
As a minimalist who believes “less is more”, Joy discovers the beauty of simplicity, exploring the possibilities of compact spaces using modern technology.
With unmatched organizational skills, she manages the sample library and essential “backstage” office tasks, to ensure smooth project execution prioritizing client comfort and efficient service.

Michelle is the glue that holds us all together. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in small business management. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and working on creative projects when she is not in the office.

OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1978 as Colonial Home Design, an interior decorating firm specializing in window treatments and upholstery, Cabin Creek Interiors® was purchased and added on in 1986. Along with this came a full-service workroom, specializing in ready made window treatments, and full custom made products, including bedding, slipcovers, and upholstery. After many years in service, the full workroom was eventually retired and Cabin Creek Interiors® became more custom interior design oriented, all while still offering the same quality level of construction and customer service. After 35 years in business, Cabin Creek Interiors® has now expanded into full interior decorating, including furniture, art, lighting, window treatments, design services, and anything else you could need to make your home beautiful!
